Kayak or SUP Side Mounting

Maybe this is a crazy thought. Has anybody mounted a kakak or SUP on either the forward Port or Starboard sides outside the stanchions, or a similar protruding mount on the side of the roof stanchions? Please share thoughts and if yes, pics.

On our 29CB we mount kayaks on the upper deck hardware using the magma kayak/SUP mounts. We are 100% satisfied with this rig, although there is always some drama in getting kayaks back into the sling. We looked at mounting them outside the forward stanchions, like many people do on other types of boats. But it creates some visibility challenges, especially when maneuvering in close quarters.

Check out the magma support, though. Other than the weak foam covering, it works well.
