OK Tuggers,

Second attempt at a design. The general consensus of my first design, here:

viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1138]

was that it would not be strong enough.

So I'm trying again. My downrigger mounts are just aft of this rack so I'm trying to stay out of the way of those. And again the kayals would mount on their sides to avoid the mast support cables on the roof.

Hopefully this is not too gawdy. Imagine it in Stainless. Thoughts?

Thanks,

dave

Dave,
Are you planning to install a bimini? Do you plan to do a lot of fishing from your R-21?

Hi David,

We are not going to install a bimini but we do salmon fish from a pair of downriggers.

At the port and starboard upper corners of the kayak arch (and probably the the rocket launcher arch also) you will benefit from a diagonal brace tube about 8-12 inches in length - i.e. form a triangle at the upper corners... This will markedly decrease racking sideways...
