Kenyon alcohol stove hard to light

Hello nuts
We have a 2012 ranger sc 25 with a combo Kenyan electric one burner alcohol stove.
Its a bugger to get it to pressure up in the alcohol stage. Follow directions its quite simple but takes forever to lite. Anyone outthere have any suggestion or maybe an upgrade is in order. We use marinegrade fuel

First, do not over fill……fill the tank with the prescribed amount….i have a clear glass jar with fluid increments for just this purpose. I believe the amount is 6 oz. The fuel is absorbed by the wick and will make the tank appear empty by design.

I then take 1 small capful of stove fuel and dump on the wick and light with propane lighter stick.

A few minutes later, voila all is working….
