Only just tried using while in port, and maybe it's just me, but my propane magma grill seems to heat up faster, and get hotter. Or does it just take a very long time to get "hot".

Hi there,

Electric grills definitely take longer to get hot due to any flame being essentially as hot as you set them, instantly. While the electric grill needs time to bring the element up to temperature. Gas grills can get a bit hotter than electric, but the difference is academic, as once it's hot, the electric grill will definitely be hot enough to cook anything you want. Hope this helps.

Cheers!

Ralf

What I found to increase temperature control and reduce heat loss was the griddle plate that Kenyon offers.

“Kenyon Double Coated Non-Stick Griddle For Electric Grill, Cast Aluminum Griddle With Flat Surface, Patented Designed Specifically For Kenyon Grills, PTFE And BPA Free, Dishwasher Safe, Black”

Takes quite a while to get hot, but eventually will get the job done. For me, the best thing by far is that I don't have any propane tanks on board to worry about or need to refill.
