I just bought an R29 and love it. Two questions: there are some brown stains interiorly ..how can they be removed? there is a round key for the sliding helm door ...is it possible to duplicate?

You bought a new boat that was delivered with stains? More details please...

Probably have to get a new key from the factory...

The "stains" I assume are on the fiberglass on the interior? If this is the case this is just where some of the teak treatment dripped or ran down. Since it was clear when applied, it is hard for the folks at the factory to see it. Once it dries it becomes sticky and then the dirt sticks to it.

If this is the case, a little acetone will clean it off. Simply put a little on a towel, and wipe them off. Be sure you do this with all the windows opened up.

Thanks for the info re keys and stain. The "new boat" was an 09 leftover so some slack must be given. Will try the acetone testing first. Thanks. Jerry "joint venture"

Acetone is a very hot product and can be hard on the fiberglass.
There is a product that you can find at home depot that is called Krud Kutter. It is in the paint dept. This is a very safe product and will cut the oil based residue with ease. It will also work on the vinyl and carpet if you happen to have some on there also. You will love the product and want to keep it on hand for so many other uses.
