Hi -

I did not get a kicker/Aux with my R27, but I would like to have one to operate in a remote area (Ark River channel).

I'd like to hear about what motor, mount and other hardware the factory uses, or alternatives. I'd think a 9.9 or 15 would be a minimum when there was little current of wind. I have not opened up my Yamaha bundle, do we "T" into the fuel line? I suppose you could pull start and hand-steer, but a linkage would be better.

Any ideas or suggestions welcome.

Thanks, Gregg Carlson

Hello Gregg,

If you were to order a kicker from us it would be a long shaft 9.9HP high thrust. We have a custom swim step mount you can purchase and a tie bar to connect to the main engine for steering. For the fuel you can connect to the main fuel filter underneath the center hatch. The battery cables you can run through the rig tube with the fuel line and connect to the batteries. If you want a complete breakdown of parts you can email, parts@rangertugs.com.

Thanks Kenny,

I dropped them a note. Probably no reason to order a motor from you, but you've probably got a mount and tie bar that works. Looks pretty easy after scouting around behind the genset.

I am not fishing, but would like to think I could get home on a pretty long stretch of water without services as long as I have clean fuel.
