Any recommendations for a swim platform mounted kicker bracket and also a stowage bracket? I've searched online and haven't seen anything I like much. Stowing on the cockpit would be preferable. Does the factory have a recommendation or a solution? Anyone got pictures of what they are using.

Taking delivery of a new 31 this weekend.

Congratulations on your new R31CB-- and have fun this weekend getting to know it. I took delivery of an R31CB earlier this year and couldn't be happier. This topic (swim platform mount) has come up before- check out this thread:

You will see several different brackets mentioned, but Andrew Custis (Ranger Tugs Customer Service Master) mentioned this one in particular: http://www.boltonstainless.com/products.php?category=35

I am looking at getting one myself, so if you pull the trigger soon, please repost and let me know how it works!

Thanks for the reply. 48 hours from now we will be on the new boat. Couldn't be more excited. Until I see the height of the swim platform off the water I suppose I won't know exactly what bracket type will work. I have a short shaft motor so a few things come into play with that. What I do know is that I won't go out in blue water without a kicker no matter how reliable the Volvo is. I've been stranded in a single engine gas I/O boat 20 miles out. That won't ever happen again, hopefully. Even with SeaTow it took 6 hours to get back in.

I will let you know what I do.

Thanks....

Update: I've researched everywhere I can and the Panther Bare Claw Bracket comes closer to what I'm looking for than anything. I like that it has a slight drop to it. That being said it is a single attach point and that concerns me. I almost lost an outboard one time because the small footprint where the bracket mounted put too much stress in the transom. I'm thinking I can design my own. Should be simple to design a mount with two attach points that mount about 10" apart to the swim platform and attach the mount so that it drops about 3" or so below the platform.
