Kicker Motor bracket R27

I am looking for advice on adding a kicker motor (mainly get home motor) to a 2015 R27 Diesel. I've been looking at various removable motor brackets on the swim platform. Boat is in storage so I don't have access to measurement from platform to water line. I'm guessing the bracket would need adjustable height. Any advice would be appreciated.

This bracket will work for 20HP 4stroke or smaller. If the top of your swim step is at least 7 inches above water it will let you tilt a power Yamaha 9.9 completely out of the water. Of course bolting on top is not as clean looking as a factory RT bracket and you can catch a toe on it if walking on that side of swim platform. Check under platform to make sure your bolts will clear braces and allow for a fairly flat surface for large washers and lock nuts. The manufacture site has good photos, measurements and instructions.
 
I have a kicker motor bracket for our 2014 R27 classic. It is from Bolton Stainless in BC, Canada who make much of the stainless stuff for Fluid Motion. I see it is now available on Amazon.

Having said this, I have never used it and doubt I ever will. We carry the standard RIB260 on Weaver Davits on the swim step with a 6hp on a rail mount for storage. The dinghy must be removed to use the motor bracket and if I really were in a “get safe” situation I would just put the motor on the dinghy and lash the dinghy to the side of the tug to “get safe”. More likely, I would drop the anchor and call for a tow. I don’t think the 6hp would be very effective on the motor bracket or by using it from the dinghy.

The Bolton is a nice product and can be easily removed from the mounting bracket and is rated at 110 lbs. The Yamaha 9.9 EPHB (25 inch Ex long shaft length, Power tilt/trim and elect start, tiller Handle, and can't recall the B, weighs 114 lbs. A few more pounds if you add a remote steering and throttle unit (wired or wireless). Some people believe a long shaft (20 inch) is fine since the motor sits back about 30 inches behind the transom, but RT used the 25 inch Extra long shaft when tested in 2016 on the 23 swim platform mount. I am not sure what they use now.
