Most PNW boaters know Ray. Everybody loves Ray.......
He is one of the biggest fans of Ranger Tugs and Cutwater boats.
He has hosted us at his marina several times. The last was in August where we took over the entire guest dock and some empty private slips. Ray welcomed us with crab, salmon and some secret recipe smoked salmon dip from his high school pal! He even made sure every boat had a tube of Ritz crackers to go with the dip. He quickly became a good friend and I cherish his humor and thoughtfulness. The GoFundMe started by his friends in Kingston explains it all. Thanks

Thank you for sharing this. +100.

For all of us who love the Kingston Marina, and Ray's good humor -- and especially this time of year, thinking of their many wonderful holiday light displays over the years -- Ray has a special place as a local community hero. We were happy to join the list of donors and wish him a full recovery.

Thanks posting this, Steve. We were happy to see on the GoFundMe link today that Ray's regained some of his memory. We're hoping for the best possible recovery.

Ray captured our hearts this summer at the Kingston rendez-vous. Rolling out the red carpet is an understatement. He poured heart and soul into helping make a truly memorable event for all of us, personally greeting every boat with a gift of that amazing salmon dip, working tirelessly to ensure every detail was covered, and coordinating with permanent moorage tenants to open up as many slips as possible for those on the wait list. No wonder he was named Person of the Year.

We hope our gift will ease some of the burden for Ray, Maria and the family through this difficult time.

Hey guys, I know it's an old forum but I wanted to thank everyone who did what they could to help my uncle Ray. He had a big impact on me and his family and it's better to see that he impacted a wonderful community of people. It warms my heart to see all the people Ray has touched. Thank you for being there for him.

Good Morning, Brandon! We all loved your uncle Ray! What a guy! Everywhere we take our boat we run into a fan of Ray Carpenter. We were just in Victoria, BC on Saturday and I shared "Ray" stories with the boat across the dock.
Last month we held our annual Cruise to Kingston and it was obvious Ray was missed. We held an appetizer contest in his honor (he was always feeding us) and took a group picture. I sent the pictures to your aunt Maria and she wrote us back a wonderful note. He was a class act!
