Kismet R29S Orientation

Lisa and I recently took delivery of our new R29S. Even thou we have been Ranger Tug owners for 6 years (we recently sold our R27) we went thru the Ranger Tug New Boat Orientation with the new R29. We have to state that this service provided by Fluid Motion is by far the best new purchase experience we have ever encountered. Even as long time boaters too much had changed in 6 years in the marine industry and we are thankful for the 2 day orientation. Tim Bates and Kenny Marrs did a superb job in the introduction to our new boat and we thank you and Fluid Motion for being the best professionals in the care of us and all of your clients. So happy for you two... The boat looks amazing can't wait to meet up with you and see it in person. .. Jim as you say I too get the feeling that they are more about a good boating experience then selling boats.
The last time I saw Kenny was in Little Current at the rendezvous. He has gotten a hair cut since then 🙂

Congratulations!

I noticed that you have the Volvo 300hp diesel engine. I believe the 260hp Volvo is standard for this model. Did you request a special upgrade? How much extra weight did this add to the boat and what top speed can you achieve?

The engine is still the D4 and the extra 40 HP comes from the addition of a booster, so not very much additional weight. I was at the Volvo Penta Q & A at the Roche Harbor Rendezvous when this question was asked. I could hear the answer very good but I thought the rep. stated it was a turbo booster addition, change or modification.

The D4 300 is now standard equipment on the R29S, starting with 2018 models.
