A friend of mind made a suggestion to bring our boat down and take in the New Years at Lake Havasu. Never been there so thought I would check local knowledge. Thoughts?

Lake Havasu can be a magical default go to place November through April. But it will be crowded and noisey over the first. If that's your thing, then go and enjoy. However, even as far south and low as Havasu is, be prepared for cold weather and or rain and the rare snow. Your trip might be a bust. But, in general, we've never been disappointed in our winter trips to Havasu.

We go every Thanksgiving and Yes, we've been snowed on which was pretty neat! Watch lake levels to be sure the boat will float off the trailer, we tend to launch from Havasu Landing Resort and Casino as we feel best about leaving our truck and trailer there but if the lake is below full pool we've had to go to Lake Havasu State Park where they have several ramps including the last one to become unserviceable due to dropping lake level. That's what a copla big big fast fast boat guys told me as they were dropping in there. There's good fishing, boat in only camping and it's fun to watch a 75' powerboat go by at over 100 MPH! Ne speed limit on the lake, I keep my mooring light on all the time!

Very helpful info. Thanks!
