We are very new to this site and are not quite sure how many people own Ranger Tugs on Lake Superior.

With that said, we are large fans of the Ranger design and of the economic trawler lifestyle so we are interested in proposing the following idea. How many people would be interested in a circumnavigation of Lake Superior or a gathering in Bayfield WI (the heart of the Apostle Islands) this summer?

Frankly we'd like every size, or anyone willing to be part of the "cause", to be part of the event.

We look forward to everyones feedback!!

Ryan and Rachel:

Thank you for the offer. I've heard and read wonderful things about Apostle Islands and being in Traverse City , Michigan you're on our bucket list of places to cruise. Because of prior plans we'll not make it this summer however I believe Rich and Cheryll of Roam mentioned coming to Lake Superior. Good luck and keep us posted for 2013. Are there boats in the water up their already?

Jim

We are in Grand Rapids MI and might be convinced to join such a gathering in the July or early August depending on dates chosen. To date we've only be day tuggers!

Somebody set a time and place and hoist the hors d'oeuvres flag... And I suspect that tugs will materialize from the mist...

Friday, August 3rd through Sunday, August 5th would work out best for Roam and her crew (Rich and Cheryll). Please suggest a marina in Bayfield that has a suitable launch ramp, trailer parking and transient slips. We'll be cruising in the Apostle Islands for a few days prior, but thought that a weekend would work out best for everyone.

Should have checked the map first! OMG! Way over there!!! Anybody for Lake Michigan cruise or gathering? Say near Muskegon or Grand Haven?

By the shore of Gitchie Gumee, By the shining Big-Sea-Water - you know you need to do it at least once in your life
The experience is worth the diesel it will take to pull the boat there and back...

The Bayfield city marina and adjacent private marina each have a ramp. Otherwise there are ramps in Washburn and Ashland. Another nice overnight marina is Pike's Bay just south of Bayfield or LaPointe Marina on Madeline Island. Both of which are full-service.

For those in MI, it is a bit of a jaunt but the surrounding area and good fishing (by Lake Superiors standards) make it a fun time. There are also numerous anchor locations in the Apostles and a great town-Cornucopia and marina-Siskiwit Bay Marina on the western edge with beautiful beaches.

We'd love to see this come together on some level and it sounds like Rich and Cheryll are already ahead of the curve.

Look forward to more feedback.
