Thought some of you would be interested in this article about the August 10, 2025 landslide and tsunami in Tracy Arm: https://www.scientificamerican.com/...ists-by-surprise-now-we-know-why-it-happened/.

It's the second highest tsunami ever documented. Fortunately, no one was hurt...a chartered tour weathered out the day before and anchored 50 miles away instead. Cruise lines are avoiding the fjord bay this season.

They say the tsunami wiped out Sawyer Island and that only 1 tree remains standing...

Here's a photo I took of Sawyer Island in June 2023, when it had trees.
