Every time we have a major rainfall I end up with a small puddle of water at the foot of the stairs in the forward stateroom of our R-29. None of the hatches or windows are leaking. The water appears to be coming from under the teak and holly sole. There is also some moisture in the hanging locker. I haven't a clue where the water is coming from. Anyone else experience this problem?

Another question - what kind of staining should I expect from the water under the sole? I believe the sole is plastic or is it wood?

Any comments would be appreciated. Paul

One easy way to trace a leak is to sprinkle talc around the suspect area, after drying the original puddle of course.
The fresh water tracks will be easy to spot.

Try checking your compass....a friend has a leak around his on the R29.

The compass was the culprit on my R29. I removed the compass and found a small area that had been missed in the original installation. Another area I had a problem with was the antennae mount. Throw the gasket away and caulk it. If you have to caulk the mount call the factory and they can talk you through it. It is a two man(or woman) job as you must lower part of the overhead to get at the anchor bolts. About a two hour job for me and my nephew. I don't think the factory uses the gasket anymore. Also check the running lights as I found a small problem on both sides. It was cured with a little caulk where the wires penetrate. It also doesn't hurt to keep an eye on the mast mount and the various wiring connecting the mast elements. Hope this helps. Pat, Ladybug, Too

Thank you all for your responses. I'll start with the compass and hope that solves the problem. Paul

I too discovered a small leak coming from the compass on my 2013 R29 late in the fall. Problem is the leak is directly above the electronics compartment. Fortunately it's not too bad but I must attend to it next summer. Gary on Docky's Dream

You might want to check the seal in and around your shore power and cable TV connectors too. Good luck.
