Never thought about it, but C248 doesn't come with a spotlight. No big deal, but want to install a LED light bar.
Any thoughts on WHERE to connect the power source.
Ideally want to tap into the ACC rocker but want to learn if anyone has a best practice on where to run the power cord from above into ACC switch.
Through GARMIN/RADAR up top or best to go near helm on ceiling and come through there down behind helm.

Before I drill and start a process, best to ask and learn from so many great folks!

Before you go through the trouble to install you might want to hold the light source at the locations you are considering mounting it. The problem with the lights mounted anywhere but on the forward portion of the bow pulpit or bow rail is there is considerable glare and reflection of light off the forward portion of the boat essentially causing night blindness. Thus, the usefulness of the factory lights on those models with them is compromised and some folks just use handheld lights of build shrouds around them to try to focus the light. (We had a factory light on our R25 and now have one on our R29 and speak from experience in trying to use them.) I suspect this is part of the reason the factory stopped installing them on all models.

Best place to install a spotlight is on the bow rail, just above the anchor, so the light can go forward of the boat and not reflect off the shiny stainless bow rails.

Thank you Channel Surfing- Good advice. Will change the type and install I was shopping for, but makes total sense
Enjoy the page and the channel too!
