Hello everyone, we (My wife Monica and I) are new to this site and new to motor boating. We currently have a 26 ft sailboat on Payette lake Idaho. We are a house sale away from, "Calling it a do" as we say in England, although I can't imagine not doing anything at all. Anyway we have sights on a great Loop trip and other adventures. Frankly its a big deal for me not to be including a sail boat in our immediate trips, and hopefully there will be sailing adventures ahead, but Mo, is no big sailor, and the loop is no place for a larger sailboat, so, a motor boat it is, (For now)
Firstly we started looking at 40-45 ft boats, the idea being to purchase somewhere on the loop. But the more I have researched the trip, and the more I think about other places we'd like to visit, the more a Trailer Trawler" makes sense.
Once we decided that is the tack, then the choice gets real limited real quick. At this point, an R29 CB, R 31 CB or CW 30 CB seem to be at the top of our wish list. But once our home sells, availability and price will probably dictate.

Anyway, this is becoming a bloody long intro and question, so now the question.
Has anyone done the trip from Lewiston Idaho to Astoria along the Snake and Columbia rivers? (485 miles ish)

Would be interested to hear.

We intend to relocate to Northern Idaho and specifically Coeur d' Alene, so Lakes Coeur d' Alene and Ponderielle, Flat head lake, Montana, and Jackson lake Wyoming are all on the list as well as PAC NW and southern areas in the cold Idaho Winter.
Cheers, The Bolton Wanderer 😎

Did Portland to Lyons Ferry, WA in 2015. Didn’t make it to Lewiston due to the fuel dock being silted in during the salmon run. They weren’t allowed to dredge it. Great trip and would do it again. Leaving from Lewiston should be no problem.
