location of autopilot compass

We have a 2013 Ranger 29 Tug and the autopilot has stopped working - Garmin support suggests checking the autopilot compass but we don't know where the compass is located. We saw elsewhere that it is in the "Cave," but we don't know where in the Cave - or even exactly what the Cave is!

If there is a diagram available showing locations of all the various system components, that would be very helpful and we'd appreciate you pointing us to it or sending it along. That way we won't have to bug you again!

"The cave" is the sleeping area under the dinette. Where in the cave the autopilot compass is, I don't know, but if you don't get an answer, I would try looking in the access panels at the forward end of the cave. Lots of stuff there.

Don't know if it equates, but in my C30 it's in the cave, below the helm seat, behind the mouse fur panels.

The autopilot compass should be located behind one of the pull out drawers in the galley on a 2013 R29.

Mine in 31 is right where Andrew said. Had to remove power from AP when first bought to reset when it could not find compass. Easier to power down house to reset everything.
