I notice that the R25's Shore Power Connection outlet is located on the Starboard side. Having noticed this and having just reserved my moorage slip that would mean when mooring bow in the Port side will be adjacent to the dock. This means I have to stretch the Shore power cable across the bow of the boat to get it into the Shore Power Connection. Placing and securing the connector will mean either leaning out of the helm side window or somehow balancing on the side decking to secure the connection. Of course, if I back the boat into the slip this issue is resolved. I presume backing the boat into the slip is more precarious than simply driving the boat in forwards.
I simply had not thought of this issue until reading the R-25's Owner's Manual.
I would think an enhancement (and presumably at higher cost to owner) to the R-25 would be for there to be a Shore Power Connection on both Starboard and Port sides to resolve this issue.
Have others found this to be an issue or is leaning out of the helm side window to connect the Shore Power Connection really no issue at all?
Are there other issues with connecting the Shore Power Connection that I've not mentioned here ? One of my concerns is having cables and lines laid in such a way when the boat is docked in the slip that give rise to safety wrt people tripping over.
