My wife wondered if we were the longest original owner of an R25? Good question, I thought. We have a 2007 R-25 Classic, hull #7 we bought new, so we've had it 15 years.

Really interested to hear how long original owners have owned their Tugs out there. Some data that might contribute to looking at a new boat 😀

Why limit it to R-25's, or just Ranger tugs?

@bob daily, this is a Ranger Tug forum, so I would expect that is what people would be most interested in.

R25 is because that is what I own and the question my wife asked. Also, other than the R21, the R25 is the oldest model produced by Ranger Tugs. There is also still a version in production (not so for the R21), although much different today than in the days of the Classic.

Feel free to chime in on the other models if you want to.

Wow, Doug that’s a long time! That makes me feel like an impulse buyer who had second thoughts right away. We only owner our 2009 R-25 Classic for 7 years!

We have owned the R25 Classic, Snug Tug, since June 2007. Kept it in Ocean City NJ until 2013 (after surviving Super Storm Sandy in 2012 without a scratch!) and then moved it to Florida on the Intracoastal waterway where it still resides. It’s been up to Ottawa and Montreal Canada, Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard Massachusetts, and down the Intracoastal to Key West twice. All by water as we don’t have a trailer. Over 2000 hours on the Yanmar 110hp engine. Still runs great. Not sure of the hull number off hand but Ranger Tugs played games with the early hull numbers using higher numbers for early boats. (Don’t know why?). It still attracts attention where ever it goes although the dark blue hull is a bit faded from the relentless Florida sun. Doesn’t matter how old or new, all the tugs are great as long as you get the boat that meets your needs. Snug Tug has always satisfied our minimalist outlook on life. It remains NOT for sale!

Ok - for non Ranger tugs, at age 24, I bought a brand new Mastercraft in 1983 and still have it today in excellent condition. It is not for sale.
