just bought a Ranger 25 tug and need a trailer. Lummisailor Lummi Island WA

According to the factory, the trailers for the R25 Classic are different than those for the R25SC. Different center of gravity I was told. That results in different axle positions relative to the hull. You should mention which R25 type you have.
New aluminum trailers built for a R25 Classic can run $9K to $11k depending on options. Used trailers are found on Tug Nuts for a LOT less. But if looking at a used galvanized steel trailer be sure to check carefully for corrosion. Get one with electric over hydraulic disc brakes if you can!

Thanks Our Journey for the info. I found a easy loader TEZB 25-27 8000 galv. it has one set of bunks . Is that the standard set up for my 2008 R25

The EZ Loader trailer for my 2008 R25 is TEZB23-25/27 7500. Yes, it has one pair of bunks running for partial length of the trailer. I replaced the surge coupler with electric over hydraulic since I live in the mountains.

I do believe that is the trailer that Ranger Tugs offered for the R25. That trailer should support 8000 pounds and the fully loaded weight of our boats is right at that weight.
I assume this trailer was previously used for a Ranger Tug. If not, the rear cross member on the trailer may not work with a R25 and need to be replaced. The trailers built specifically for Ranger Tugs have a deep bend in the rear cross member to accommodate our low rear keel.
If the was built for a R25, what year is the trailer? If built before 2011, it probably will work just fine with your R25 Classic. If it's a newer trailer then it was probably built for a R25SC and you may need to make some adjustments to the bunks and/or axle locations to get the tongue weight right. You are looking for a tongue weight between 6 to 9 percent of the total weight of boat and trailer (roughly 9,500 to 10,500 pounds depending on fuel. water and waste being carried) or 650 to 850 pounds.

Oh, and if the tires are older than 3 years it's probably a good idea to get new tires. Even if they haven't been used much. LOTS of threads on tire selection can be found on this forum!
Repacking the bearings is a good idea too.
If you go to the Ranger Tugs web site and look at the R25SC gallery and options section you can see photos of an ez-loader trailer built for a R25SC. It has two pairs of bunks, not a single set of bunks. My Tuff Trailer also has two pairs of bunks.

Thanks for the info on the EZ Loader looks like the one I am buying is right also the EZ Loader folks in Seattle confirmed it with the vin.number
