My wife and I live in Western NC and will be bringing our new (to us) 2016 C28 to Oriental, NC area for the summer. Looking for other Cutwater/Ranger Tugs in the area to connect with and learn from. We are new to coastal boating but looking forward to spending many hours on the Pamilco Sound this summer. Have loose plans to cruise to Beaufort, Ocracoke and little Washington. Wouldn't disappoint me if I could catch some fish too at some point!

We are in Southport, NC. Have a 2011 R29. Don't forget to visit us down here! We are planning a trip to Ocracoke this year... not sure if it will be summer or late spring. You should also consider doing the Albemarle Loop as well.

Hey Brad,
We are from Ashville NC but keep our R31cb in Pawleys Island. We run up and down the ICW in this area. Fishheadbarandgril we just bought a home in Calabash NC so are looking for a new place to park. What do you think about Southport? We are going this weekend to check out.

Hey Brad,
We have a C28 down in Murrells Inlet, SC. We travel up to that area a lot. Have relatives near New Bern. Maybe we can plan a rendezvous with some of these other owners. Stay in touch.

Thanks all for the replies. Fishheadbarandgrill let me know if you get dates for Ocracoke. It would be great to have buddy boat to go across the Pamlico for our first trip. We'll be at River Dunes right outside of Oriental. Would love a rendezvous with Carolina folks at some point. I would love to do the Albemarle Loop although I have to admit I am not exactly sure what the route would be. Something for me to research and plan!

Scotty Mac,
We relocated from Isle Of Palms to Southport in 2016. Love this little town! We keep SEA SHANTY at the Southport Marina. I’d sign up for a slip now if you’re thinking hard about Southport. Available slips go quick. We like Southport Marina because it’s walkable to anywhere in town, including our house. Regret that we will be in Charleston on Saturday for the day. We will be in Southport on Sunday.

Will do.

If you are still in Coastal NC, take the time to do the Virginia Bypass and Dismal Swamp.

Wife and I just purchased a 2019 242 Cutwater last week. We live across from Oriental NC and would love to meet up with other like minded boaters. Currently we are becoming familiar with Pure Luck and understanding the power management section. Our intent is to cruise the ICW both north and south of our location.
