Hello R-21 Owners......
I am in the process of acquiring an R-21 and doing a lot of research.
New to TugNuts (always been a Sailor) familiar with the Puget Sound.....
Now looking for some advice / input on cruising an R-21 in the Pacific NorthWest !!!!
Has anybody joined in on the the Cruises with the Bigger Boats ?

There's an excellent article on three R21's going to Alaska, in convoy. Go the the Home page, check the right side for the link.

I'm on my third R21EC, the sequence was Blue 2009, White 2007 and now a Red 2014. I'm a long time sailor, going back some 50+ years. The R21EC is a great little boat. Kinda slow, about 8 knots max. For a sailor, 8 knots is a good speed, unless you're used to sailing the new sport boats.

I've run mine in some nasty weather, 25+ knots of wind, waves the height of the bow pulpit. Never been scared, but was uncomfortable.

Try one; you'll probably be impressed.

Thank You rt11002003 / Loaf'N

Yes, the R-21 seems like a great little Tug.....
Going to look at the one I got lined up this weekend, a White 2008.
She looks really clean in the pix,
Thanx Again 😉
