Low Galley Water Pressure

We have noticed since getting our boat there is a big difference in water pressure between the galley sink and head sink. The galley water pressure is barley enough to be able to use the sprayer. We have already removed and cleaned the aerator, but it only helped a little bit. Anyone else seen this? Our boat is a 2013 R27. Thanks.

There is another filter at the other end of the flex hose for the faucet. Remove it. The screen at the aerator is enough filter. The hose is held on by a screw.

Besides the screen as the hose enters the faucet head, there is a back flow preventer where the flex hose attaches to the valve body. Mine always clogged there. Once I removed it, no more issues.

I had the same problem with the galley low water pressure. I changed the fresh water pump to a 5GPM capacity and now no longer have a problem. Hope this helps. PS swapping the pumps is a b----.

Thanks' for the info I have a 2013 R25SC and have the same problem with galley water pressure. I continually check the aerator screen and it is clean, but when the tap is opened all I get is a trickle and the pump just cycles continually even with the screen removed, never thought for a moment there would be another screen/filter.

Check that check valve. You will need a stubby Phillips screwdriver. Loosen the screw and the flex hose will slide off. You have to do this mostly by feel or use a mirror. Once you remove the flex hose you will see the check valve inside the end. Just remove it and reinstall the hose.

2013 Ranger 27. Same problem. Excellent pressure in the head, trickle at the galley. For both cold and hot water.
Don't get lots of air when turn faucet on in galley, just no solid stream. Pump works fine, no excess cycling. Nothing in the aerator on faucet end. Have been advised to check the diverter valve within the faucet. Will get on it shortly and see .

We found the source of our problem.
While the external aerator screen is clean, you need to clean the internal one in the galley faucet/spray head.
Unscrew the black cap that holds the faucet to the hose. The pull the faucet/spray head off from the hose. It is a pressure fit and will come with gentle pulling/twisting being held on with an O ring. Inside you will probably see a retaining ring and another screen inside the body. You can take the retainer ring out and pop the screen out. Behind ours was quite a bit of what looked like whitish sticky "sand". Cleaning this out and reassembling gave us good water flow back.
I suppose you could leave this screen out, but it was not hard to clean it.

Take a look at earlier posts by knotflying on back flow preventer screen. Although the screen you cleaned works for now, that gunk will eventually clog the back flow preventer. It is a bit of a hassle to get to it. I just removed the back flow preventer and am finally getting flow equivalent to the faucet in the head.

Don't forget to check/clean the screen on the input side of the pump itself.
