Low Steering Wheel in Ranger and Cutwater boats

I am surprised at how low the steering wheel is in relation to the Captain's chair. I found this in both Ranger and Cutwater.

I am a bit on the tall side. So maybe it is just me.

Thoughts?

if active driving I usually stand. If not, autopilot is on and I'm sitting observing.
