Mace 2.5 error E80 and E87

My boat’s newly rebuilt Mace 2.5 generator (about $2,000, about 3 hours ago) starts easily and runs smoothly for about 10 minutes before shutting down with an E80 or E87 error.

Both errors are low or no power output.

Getting the generator back to the factory shop is hard and expensive - I’m looking for a better idea or a new generator.

I would call the factory shop and ask about them footing the bill for shipping and repair. With only three hours one would expect there to be no issues

The factory is one person, Sergio Miguel, who works out of his garage in South Florida. He will help any way he can, but has no financial support from Italy.

He replaced essentially the whole engine last time.

I’m hoping to find a patch from someone who own one.

Or, better yet, another brand that will fit in the compartment.

Added a second, external, fuel pimp. The current internal pump, the third on this generator, must not deliver enough fuel. With the external pump I call the left ventricle assist device, the generator now runs fine.
