2018 R-23 with 200 hp Yamaha. No generator or inverter. Here’s the situation. The high water bilge alarm and the CO monitor only work when the ENGINE switch is in the ON position. When you turn the ENGINE switch OFF no power goes to these two devices. When the HOUSE switch is ON there is no power to either of these devices. Two questions. #1. Is this the correct way these devices should be wired? #2. Does leaving the ENGINE switch ON when not running the engine cause any harm to the battery or any other system(s)?
Thanks,
Karl

This is not wired correctly. The 24/7 auto bilge and alarm and CO monitor should be powered all the time. The correct wiring placement is the 24/7 fuse panel should be wired to the hot side of house battery switch. This side of the switch has battery power all the time. The only way it would not have power is if the house battery is physically disconnected or the 100 amp fuse is blown. If either of these cases are present there would be no power to any house accessory.

View pages 27, 25, 20 you will see the proper wiring of the 24/7

My guess is that when the battery switches were wired the 24/7 panel lead was attached to the wrong switch and also the wrong side of the switch. It is an easy fix. remove the switches and install the 24/7 wire terminal to the right location on the house switch.

Thanks Brian. I didn’t think this was right.

A big shout out and thank you to BB Marine/Brian for correctly diagnosing my electrical problem. The 24/7 fuse box was incorrectly wired to the Engine Switch and not to the House switch as it should have been. An easy fix but without help there’s no telling how long I would have looked. The CO monitor and High Water Bilge Alarm are now functioning correctly.
Cheers!
Happy Karl
