Does anyone use a maintenance app like Boat Village or Vesselvanguard? Curious whether you thought they have any value.

I used Wheelhouse Technologies on a Nordhavn 55. It was a great service...although it was amazing how much stuff they'd point out had to be done! Some people get turned off by the maintenance alerts, but the alerts are based on manufacturers' recommendations, and thus are real -- whether your computer nags you or not.

Some other benefits: they post online copies of the owners and service manuals for your equipment (and you can download them to view them offline if you like), maintain a comprehensive service history for the boat (based on the resolution of the maintenance alerts), and track spare parts (including quantity, location and what they apply to). If you buy your spares from them, they come labeled for the equipment they apply to, what they are, and what spares kit they should be stored in. They also were able to ship spares into Mexico, which isn't always easy.

For the Nordhavn, I loved this service. However, it's not inexpensive, and I haven't been able to justify it for the R31.
