I have a 2018 Ranger Tug R29 Sedan and the main cabin TV has no power. I know the TV is good as Majestic sent me a new power supply and it fires right up.

Does anyone know where the power supplies for the two TVs are so I can swap out the bad with the new?

Appreciate any help that is provided including the best way to swap it out.

Mike

Unless someone knows more, I would start by removing the defrost grill and fan on port side. I know there is some antenna stuff in there for the TV and stereo. There may be a power supply too.
I am wondering how you know it is a power supply issue. Does the power supply convert 12v / 110v? If so how do you know the “power supply” is getting power?

They are 12v tvs- as far as I know the power goes straight to a fuse block….

Thanks for the info!

I dropped the overhead and found the TV power wire that is wired directly to the fuse block. The factory attached the power wire to the antenna slot (1 AMP) which probably explains why the fuse was constantly blowing. Next step is to find out what the wire in the TV slot (7.5 AMP) is attached to.

Related question - I have an OTA antenna, not a satellite antenna. Is there any reason that the OTA antenna would need power?

The OTA antenna is connected to a booster. depending on your boat, it could be in multiple places. It's a white rectangular box with coaxial cables going in/out of it, and a power cable. I removed mine since I use internet tvs.

Again, much thanks!

I found the booster. It is located centerline of the windshield; the wood with light needs to be dropped to get to it.

This issue definitely came from the factory as the main cabin TV power wire into the fuse block is labeled as the antenna. I remember this TV working until I pulled all the unnecessary fuses for the winter. In the spring, I reinstalled per the R29 Owner's Manual and started blowing the 1 AMP fuse. Makes sense now as what I thought was the antenna (1 AMP) was actually the main cabin TV (7.5 AMP).

Just a thought because I spent a couple of months chasing a ghost: I thought I had a power supply problem but it turned out to be minor corrosion in the fuse block. Guys on this forum helped me out until I found it. I pulled the fuse, hit the block with DeOxit, slid fuse in and out a couple of times, and wallah: I had power! Not sure DeOxit was the best choice - a good contact cleaner/lube might have been better, but you get the idea

Does anyone know where the tv booster is located on a Ranger Tug 25 2021? I get no tv stations with the boats antenna but attaching a different antenna and the tv works fine.

Found the booster. It’s located behind the panel above the hanging locker. The antenna is powered through the coax cable. The connection on mine was not connected properly and wasn’t grounded through the shielding therefore the antenna wasn’t powered. Once repaired, works quite well.
