I have used a mantus bridle for a number of years on my R 31. However, lately, on a windy night, for instance, it is making all kinds of noise when it moves against the rub rail as the boat goes from side to side. It literally keeps us awake. Do any of you have suggestions? Have any of you experienced the same thing?

Our is quiet.
Have you tried wrapping a towel (with zip ties to keep it from blowing away) around it to see if that solves the noise?

Yes, I did try that. Noise still there. I finally had to take pressure off of bridle. Not best solution, but had to sleep.

Now Im curious, bridle or rub rail, how do you prove which is the culprit?

I used a Mantus bridle on our R29 Sedan and had similar issues including the bridle legs getting caught on the bow pulpit. I was never able to make adjustments to resolve them.

I then switched to a single leg snubber and have had no problems!

Sorry for not responding timely.
Bridle rubbing against rail makes the noise. No problem in calm waters but if wind kicks up and boat going from side to side, then a major noise problem.
I use the bridle because if not the rode pops out of the channel on the pulpit and gets severely frayed. So I would not think a single leg would work.
