It sure would be nice to have a manual for the R29 like the Draft R27. I have started trying to create my own using the R27 Draft as a "go by" but there is info I just do not have. Is there a Factory Manual in the works for the R29?

I will be working on a manual for the R29 very soon. This is not exactly an overnight process but you will be pleased to hear that it is in the works. I will post on here when finished. Thanks for your patience!

I noted in recent video that you stated the parallel battery switch in normal operations should be in off position. Would you elaborate? Also at the helm there is a rocker switch for the bilge pump(s) how does it function and why is it necessary? I am a recent owner, 5 months, hence the questions. Thanks. Jerry Geisenheimer

On all of the R29 Tugs that are out there, the battery switches will need to be left on for the batteries to charge. If you are not plugged into shore power, I would suggest turning the battery switches off to save battery power.

Bilge Pump 1 & 2 are wired direct and always hot. Carbon Monoxide detectors, propane sensor and so fourth are also wired to the hot side of the battery switch. That means if the battery switches are off, these items will still be powered drawing batteries down over time.

The manual rocker switch for the bilge pumps will always need to be off. The only reason you would need to turn these on is if the float switch stopped working. These are a "Manual" engage for the pump motor.

Andrew:

Any progress on the R29 manual? Even your draft would be great!

Thanks

Mike

Would a video "draft" be sufficient? I had a customer video tape my whole orientation that I would have to edit but I think it would be very useful in the meantime. What do all of my fellow tuggers think about this idea as a supplement until the written is finished?

YES! a video for the draft manual for the R-29 would be great! I'm just about to bring my new R-29 home and it would be very helpful to have a video to refer to!

Hi Andrew,
A video draft would be very useful, until you can get a written one finished.
Hope all is going well for you & Kenny.

I was afraid the video of me would scare people more than help. I will work on this. One of my customers is looking at getting me a copy. Have to try and reduce the eight hours of footage on there and break it down. I will let you know when it gets close to being done. Thanks for your patience. 😀

Andrew this is the first time I found your question. I sure would like to have a manual but for now a video would be helpful. Is it available? Jim Mockler
