I'm looking for recommendations on a Marine surveyor in the Palmetto area Florida
The boat is a 2008 Ranger R25 with the yanmar 110 engine

Questions
Do I need both a marine surveyor for the boat and a marine engine surveyor.
What can i expect form the survey. The one marine surveyor I talked to today also said he would do a compression test on the engine and a oil analysis

The boat past name was LOOPHOLE and the current name is Just Putting along
Any input put would be great , What to look for, Thoughts
Thank you
Richard

I have never been sorry that I had surveys completed prior to purchase.

If your engine was newer and still under warranty, you might forgo an engine survey (based upon compression test and oil analysis).

My advice would be to do your general survey first, with oil analysis and compression test. If this plays out successfully, then do the engine survey. BTW, is there a generator involved? If so, that should be surveyed as well.

Be there for the surveys. You can learn an awful lot.

Good luck!

Best,
Bobby

Dan McClanahan at Regatta Point Marina in Palmetto is a broker with deep knowledge of these boats. I’m sure he can recommend a surveyor with same. PM me for his phone number.

I’m working with Dan Mcclanahan as the broker now .. Nice guy .. just wanted a independent recommendation
Am using Austin Wiley from Miley Marine Surveying
It does have a Mase 2.2 generator
