My policy is with Market and it renews in December. I'm in North Carolina. I just received via my broker, Global Marine, that Markel requires me to sign and acknowledge that at renewal, if the boat is not on land for a tropical depression, tropical storm or hurricane, that my coverage will be suspended. No reference to dates when that condition is required. Just TD, TS or a hurricane. Has anyone else on the east coat received the same notification? For me the conditions are vague at best. No references to watches or warnings. And no mention that, and is written in their current policies, a provision for reimbursement up to 50% if you do haul out for a storm. In the future, why would you reimburse something that you have made mandatory for coverage...
