Mase 2.5 Impeller change/Sound proofing

Started up the Generator, checked the exhaust and no Water...Shut it down

Removed the impeller cover and ALL of the 6 vanes were broken off. Pulled the remaining parts out of the housing and lubed up the new O ring and impeller and installed.

Started her up and apparent success...Ran for 30 minutes under load refer, ac, charger no squawks.


Has anyone added sound proofing to the Generator box? If so, what did you use and was it helpful? I think the majority of noise is coming from the cabin step!!! Damn it's as loud and annoying as my ex...

I added 1/2 inch of foil backed soundproofing inside the cover. I also added 1 inch of foil faced soundproofing outside of the generator. It was significant improvement, now it’s only just to loud for conversation.

When you can take a 250 HP outboard and make it sound like a singer sewing machine why can't you muffle a generator...Thanks, I'll try soundproofing
