MASE E-87 Code

Hi Ranger Tug peeps or anyone with MASE 2.7 ...

I just wanted to update my 2011 MASE i.s. 2.7 genset malfunction and repair so others may benefit

Like others have posted the E-87 error can be associated with a bad capacitor or an internal fault of the alternator

Lucky me, the $25 replacement capacitor worked !

From MASE , I guess fingers crossed it’s better quality than original although from my electrical engineer friends, they tell me capacitors dry out over time …

From my understanding, that capacitor going bad is a common problem with the Mase 2.7. I got my replacement capacitor from Mase and it was a larger diameter than the original. That complicated installation. Yours replacement appears to be the original size. They probably were out of stock of the original size and sent me one from another model.
