Our boat has significant mildew on the exterior canopy which is made of a teak look- a- like material. I have tried many different products which have not worked. Any ideas on how to clean? Can the teak like material be replaced easily?

thank you,

I use a Swedish Oil kind of product to rub it down, clean, and remove.

I was trying various cleaning solutions when my neighbour Nick said take it off; he attacked it with his rotary sander. We applied an outdoor polyvarethane and if looks like new. It's easy to get off and on.

We've had the same issue on our C28. I can't figure out where the moisture is coming from. I'm thinking about taking the two panels down, sanding, applying a polyurethane to both sides, and then drilling or cutting some small drain hole for the moisture to drip out.

I've also got some feedback on this forum to replace the panels with Star Board material.

Any other ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

We replaced our canopy ceiling with new 1/4” teak and holly plywood. If I remember correctly, the root of cause for the original going bad is/was it wasn’t sealed on both sides. The job was on the easier side. Used old board as a template and sealed both sides with Epifane. We purchased the lumber from Public lumber in Detroit. Gave them slightly oversized dimensions and they cut and shipped. Over the years, it was always one of the prettiest parts of the boat.

I know some folks also replaced it with starboard using the existing panels as templates

My one trim tab on the port side the blue light just has a little red light blinking the other trim tab is fine. Any suggestions please.
