I've had a C32 for about 2 years and I have run my port engine dry of fuel with 65 gal indicated on my fuel remaining in the combined tanks (so 32 gal a side) from the calculated fuel remaining based on engine consumption. I fill up my tanks every time, so I should know they are full. I never really trust my tank level gages, but my port engine tank has never read more than 70% full even when fuel is burping out of the fill port...I always imagined that it was just a miscalibrated level sensor.

But now I'm starting to wonder if I have a clogged vent line that is preventing me from actually filling my port tank, which is the forward fuel tank in the C32, all the way. Where is the fuel vent line routed to? Has anyone else seen this?

From Google:
"AI Overview
If you are referring to a marine fuel tank vent for a Cutwater boat, the through-hull fitting typically incorporates a built-in splash guard or P-trap to prevent water from entering the gas line. Because boat fuel vents must comply with strict Coast Guard and ABYC safety standards, you cannot simply cut them open."

I can get both of my Yamaha fuel gauges to read 100% or close to it. After I fill up, I reset to 294 gallons on the GPS system and monitor fuel use mostly via the Garmin MFD readouts and rarely look at Yamaha after fill up.
