So I opened the discharge/drain valve on my Isotherm Spa hot water heater with the water pump on ran for like a minute could hear the water rushing yet no water was seen in the bildge... where did that water go?
(There’s a good joke in there somewhere)

Shoot... maybe serious clog. Have like 20 gallons sitting somewhere

We have an R29S and had a similar issue so I’ve inspected most of the crevices. What I found out was that the drain hose from the hot water heater drains into the area below the floor in the stateroom, on our boat. If you lift the floor board up where the shower sump is located and get down on your hands n knees with a flashlight. Look towards the stern n you might see the drain hose. There is a small hole that goes to the area beyond that bulkhead that then leads to the engine room bilge. The hole on our boat was minimal so I had to open it up more as the water did not drain properly. Yours may be like that or the hole could simply be clogged. Hope this helps.

Yes, so the area under the floor boards is full of water . It’s hard to see under that space. I stuck my arm in reaching aft, could not feel a bulkhead to find the hole to unglog it. Any suggestions where the hole is?

Yes, it’s about where you enter the stateroom from the salon and a full arms length aft of the floor board opening. It is much easier to reach if you disconnect the shower sump and then push it aside a bit. The hole is dead center of the boat. I found that the factory put too much adhesive down when the installed that bulk head and therefore the adhesive oozed over part of the hole so it would not drain properly.

One last question , promise.
I put my iPhone down there to take some pictures. Is the hole in the bulkhead vertically or in the flooring horizontally. Thanks

The hole in our boat is at the bottom of the V of the hull. It may be easiest to use a pump to pump that area dry so you can get a better look at things. Let us know what you find, there’s never too many questions.

So at it again . Pumped the water out. I see
Two Parallel narrow V channels, running my fingers down the one which is lowest in the boat. Also trying a coat hanger , nothing
So were you in the head or along the bed when you kneeled down to reach into to unglog. Seems like along the bed would let me be straight in line so my whole arm could reach in, except I’m 6’4”, so laying down along the bed is a contortionist feat! Breaching down when kneeled in the head only gets 1/2 arm length under.

In our R29S I unscrewed the shower sump to move it aside thereby enabling me more room to be able to get my arm further back into that area. With that said I could not get my arm all the way back to the drain hole, however with a long needle nose pliers it can be reached. I’ve also completely disconnected the sump pump and pulled it out to get more room to negotiate the area.....it is tricky.

We’re you knelling in the head for these maneuvers ?
Thanks

I knelt from the floor at the foot of the bed and reached in with my left arm, but I’m left handed.

FYI - you can purchase a tool that hooks to your phone and has a flexible camera line with a light to see in these tight spots. I bought the Ryobi brand. Picture shows up on phone screen.
Comes in handy with these boats.

Makes a lot of sense... just ordered one.

What’s the hose that runs in front of the drain. Is that the hot
Water heater discharge?

Thanks

There are two hoses that come from the compartment under the captains bench. That area houses one of the air conditioners and the hot water heater. The hot water heater drain hose is what you’re seeing. The other hose connects to the shower sump pump and is the condensation drain hose from the A/C unit.
