looking to buy a Ranger Tug R25
Does any one know what model Garmin GPS was installed on the 2008 R25. If so does it connect to the NMEA 2000 back bone?

Back in 2008 I believe RT was using all RayMarine navigation products. Not sure if you could get Garmin even as an option. I was told that our boat, one of the last 2009’s built before they changed to the 2010 model, was one of the very first RT-25 Classics with Garmin hardware.
The GPS functionality is provided by the Garmin 5212 Chartplotter.
PS: Someone PM me that you could also get a Lowrance radar as an option back in 2007 and 2008.

Sorry I meant to type just, does the 2008 GPS connect to the NMEA 2000 backbone and if so what inputs should be seen on the GPS screen. I have the Garmin 5212, 4kw Radar Dome, GPS antennae, and depth finder. I was not sure if that was standard or an upgrade. The GPS screen does not show any engine information, just chart information, was wondering if that is correct. A friend of mine has a 2012 R27 and his GPS displays engine information. Should have previewed what I typed before I sent it. Lesson learned.
