We have been enjoying our new to us 2013 R31 since October, but just today got around to trying the generator. We got it to start and run fine, but it didn’t seem to be providing any power to the boat. I’m sure we are missing a basic step, but don’t know what the proper procedure is. Any help is appreciated!

Thank you - Eric

Most basic possibility is the rotary switch that says shore, off, generator.

Thank you for your response, I should have provided a little more information. We have a rotary switch that has options of Shore, Off, and Generator. We selected Generator. There is a rocker switch that has options of Shore/charger, Off, and Inverter. Tried all three on that one with no success except interver did allow AC power use, presumably from the house batteries

There is a circuit breaker on the top of the generator that may have been tripped. You can access it through the round deck plate in the cockpit by the table leg mounts. It is the deck plate you use to check the generator oil.

The rocker switch you mention is for the inverter. It sounds like you have a combined battery charger/inverter. The rocker switch changes the mode between battery charger (charging the batteries from an AC source) and inverter (taking DC power from the batteries and converting it to AC power for the boat).

Sgeary is probably correct. If this is the first time you have used it, the circuit breaker was likely tripped for maintenance or storage by the previous owner. If it is not in the described location, check your owners manual.

Thank you, yes, it was the larger white breaker. I had noticed the red breaker (emergency stop) and that was on. The white breaker is completely hidden from view on our boat. We do not have the access port referenced above, I only found it by sticking my phone up there to take a photo. Once I flipped that breaker everything operated as expected. Thank you again.
