We're trying to decide where to mount our fire extinguishers on a R29-CB. It's a new boat so we reluctant to start drilling holes lol. So any suggestions?

We have one in the forward cabin mounted to the small locker along the port side. I think your boat has the same locker, but on the starboard side. We have another located just inside the door to the mid cabin, commonly called the cave. That way it's quick to grab in the event of a fire in the galley. Having both located close to an exit also allows us to get out if we decide the fire is too large to fight. I drilled holes into the fiberglass in both locations to mount them.

I've seen them mounted by affixing a wooden strip to a bulkhead or other flat surface with 3M 5200 and then drilling into the wooden strip. Anybody try this?

I have one with in arms reach of the helm. That way I can fight my way to the cockpit from the V berth. The second with in arms reach of the galley cooking area so I can put my dinner out 🙁 .

We mounted one in the port side corner of the v berth and one under the speaker in the starboard corner of the cockpit.
