My new cutwater 28

So I hugged the coast to halfway between south haven and st joe.
Beautiful day , waves 1-2 ft. I had the wind working in my favor.
I cruised at 3200 and made between 19/20 knots.
When I went any higher in rpm I got slap and it was not as efficient .
I burned 56 gallons about 10.2 hr. Took about 5 1/2 hours seemed like 5 min.
It was great . Only thing is I seemed to have a slight port list that I could not trim out.
I also need bottom paint. How hard of a dyi is that ?

Oh , I waited till Saturday much nicer day

Sounds like a great trip ! We are looking forward to cruising the lake . The bottom job is not bad , I decided to do it myself because of the cost . Ranger / Cutwater told me to just sand 80 grit and apply two coats bottom paint . The claim is that the hull is made with vinylester resin so there is no need to apply a bearier coat . I am still going to apply epoxy bearier coats then Pettit Vivid . Remove mold release / wax , sand with 80 grit , then apply epoxy , I'm hoping two coats then two coats of vivid . From what I read , with a good application it should last 4 to 5 years before recoating with bottom paint .
