Mystery wifi

Hi everyone. My new to me 2016 r29 has a wifi network called RANGERTUG. The original owner has no idea what it’s from. I’m guessing Garmin or from the Tracvision tv. Any ideas what it might be and what password might be?

The Garmin chartplotter can create a wifi network.

Hello Ryan,

The chartplotter has a wifi option built in. To see if it is on: Go to settings from there communications then look for wifi network. Please let me know what you find.

The wi-fi is more like Bluetooth, as it doesn’t provide any internet connection. It is the way to sync your handheld devices or tablets to the Garmin network using Active Captain.
