Name lettering on 2018 R27

We are excited to take delivery of our 2018 R27 next week and wanted to get our name lettering ordered. Because of the outboard we are planning on putting the name on the bow and just putting the port of call on the transom.
Have other folks with the R 27 OB done this? If so what size letters worked for the bow?

She has done a lot of the graphics on Ranger Tugs all over the PNW but can mail you the finished materials anywhere. She mailed ours to Southern Oregon and they were very easy to apply.
I bet she would have excellent recommendations for the RT-27 OB.

Our R27 classic has the dinghy on davits which blocks most of visibility of the stern.
Had the name only added on the propane locker and name and hailing port on each bow.

I stand corrected, so have deleted my original post.

It is documented but the required 4" letters (SALT LAKE CITY, UT) just would not fit on the available space.
Hence putting it on both bows.
Better than no hailing port showing.
The propane locker is just not that big.

We also have a 2020 R27 OB. Prior to the new boat we had a 24' Eastern "downeast/picnic" boat with an outboard. For the first boat and now the R27 we had a local designer who did the lettering on the Port and Starboard side toward the aft of the boat. Name with hailing port in smaller lettering right underneath. Avoided the stern altogether. The designer worked in vinyl and also does local truck and business lettering.

Oh Well ! done in script with a shadow on the eastern worked fine. So now the R27 was done by the same person in script but Oh Well !! Color scheme different. Name fitted so that would not be bothered by fenders when deployed. The !! was a creative way to indicate 2nd Oh Well.

I just used "Do it Yourself Lettering.com". Very inexpensive, very well done, many colors and fonts and received the final product in less than a week. Easy to apply. I used three inch letter for Boat Name and two inch letters for homeport. Name and homeport on the propane locker in rear. Boat name on each side of the ranger tug. Easy peezy. Good luck

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but it sort of applies. For us R27 "classic" owners, the issue is the dinghy on it's davits blocks any lettering that might be on the transom. In my case, our lettering is on the bottom of the dinghy! Works/looks great, except after a couple years of beaching the dinghy the lettering is starting to look a little worn. I may need to replace the lettering soon, and this time maybe I'll apply a couple layers or clear coat to make it more durable.

Thanks for feedback, we're leaning towards putting the letters aft now instead of at the bow. We have a local contact who is making it for us. We're former Seattleites now on the Chesapeake Bay, so name is Seahawk, hopefully in as close to the Seahawks font as we can get it!

Fortunately the FAQ for USCG lettering, as long as it's not a commercial vessel, just says "The name and hailing port of a recreational vessel must be marked together on some clearly visible exterior part of the hull", so doesn't need to be the stern.

Propane locker and dinghy (rides horizontally on davits) leave no area for lettering.
Port and starboard quarters might have a fender hanging in the way.
Kind of why I chose the bow. Far enough forward so the fenders would not rub on the lettering.
