I have a Ranger 29 2017 where I need the mast to fold starboard for clearance and not port Does anybody have a suggestion? I assume I will need existing one, custom reworked by moving hinge to other side. Does anyone know the mast mfg company name? Thanks

It is a side slip. I dock the boat under a seaplane wing. The seaplane wing hangs over the boat on the port side and is very close to mast.

Hi Mastercraft,

The company who builds these masts is Bolton Stainless from Vernon, BC. Not sure if they can build one for you, but at the very least they would have to fabricate a new hinge. All of our masts fold down to port, so there is nothing currently that would fit your bill. Their number is 250-545-6226. Hope this helps.

Mastercraft, If you check with your local boat dealer and find where they have there stainless work done, usually a local weld / fabrication shop. Take your mast off and have them cut and reinstall the hinge to other side. Usually a lot cheaper and faster. Bob

Bolton had a fabrication shop in Mt Vernon, WA until August of this year, but closed it up due to a drop in business and now only does business out of their Canada location. I am currently having my mast (2011 R29 Classic) modified to take 8" out of the height. The Ranger factory folks referred me to Ballard Marine Fabricators in Ballard WA and I am due to pick up my modified mast today. In my meeting with them earlier this week when I dropped off the mast, their shop seemed very well equipped and experienced to do most any type of SS work us tug and Cutwater owners might need.

Call Railmakers in Everett, ask for Guy. He can probably fabricate anything you can describe, then electro-polish it for appearance. It'll cost you a boat unit!$$
