What model of prop puller have people found to fit the Cutwater/Rangers.

We have an older C-Clamp style but the shaft side is too thick to fit between the keel and the back of the prop. We need to pull our prop (to make things more fun we are in the water and the water is COLD).

Thanks!

Hi,
Had the same situation this summer. C28 changed out the prop for a slightly smaller one as we could not hit the WOT rpms for the engine.
The C clamp wouldn't fit as there is no clearance to speak of. The yard I used then separated the shaft coupler and then ended up using an Algonac scissor puller. I would not do this in the water. We just pulled it out on a trailer, worked on it in the parking lot and then back in the water. The prop popped off the shaft like a champange cork and you want a blanket or rug on the ground to catch it.

you can avoid the loose prop thing by leaving the nut on the end of the shaft. this also protects the threads from the puller. I typically have a domed top nut I put on my propshaft to pull against - problem is the clearance at the bearing. Has anyone used a plate style puller with success?

Doing it on the hards is not a realistic option for us at the moment.

thanks.

looked at that one, specs 3/4 min clearance... we have maybe 3/8... have an email out to andrew also. frustrating day!
