Looking to get first coffee maker for RT. Really like the Nespresso Evoluo. It has a 1600 watt heating element, should I have any issues powering that?

I've used the Keurig Single Cup on my R29 CB without a problem and according to Keurig the peak power usage is 1,500 watts. That being said I've tried starting with cold water and it doesn't work, it has to be room temp. I suspect there may be a peak power limit and the cold water was too much.

I finally took it off the boat though cause it was taking up too much room (everything is a compromise on boats). However I just checked and they make a new slimmer mini! I'm going to buy one today : )

how much battery power does an inverted nespresso cup take?

There have been reports here that Nespresso devices in particular will not operate with the sine wave output from our inverters; search here for Nespresso for those. Those reports led me to use an Aeropress instead (nothing like espresso really, but good coffee). I would suggest to try one before buying.

While a different model, I use a VertuoPlus Nespresso maker on the R-31 -- it works fine -- no issues. I forget what the power draw is; tested it on our Sea Trial and it worked, and has since.

We have the Nespresso Mini Essenza. It draws 1300 watts and we use it on the inverter without any issue. We use it only once or twice a day.

That’s great news. A great cup of coffee in the morning is a must !

Thanks
Joe

Glad to hear the update on those models!

Starbucks VIA is my hubbys best friend in the morning with his breakfast. For us, having an appliance is just another item that could get broken, or lack of storage.

When we’re anchored out doing the Great Loop, my morning coffee on deck watching the sunrise, will be a highlight of the day. At sunset replace coffee with wine !
