If you walked the Seattle Boat Show, you probably saw this at McKenzie Spoor's booth (Ideation Design). He designed our new logo and built the 3D backlit LED transom piece. Multi-color, looks even better on the boat than it did on display.

McKenzie does boat graphics, custom logo design. He does traditional vinyl, what's on our port and starboard, can also do raised lettering, and back-lit LED lettering.
His patent pending 3D letter system is fully waterproof and features a phone app for controlling the color changing LEDs. (Yes, there's an app for that. The colors can sync to music! ha!)

If you've been thinking about updating the look of your boat, he's the guy

We have a video, full conversation with him, what's actually involved in a boat graphics project, coming to the channel soon.

Looks great. 🙂 Hard to miss. 🙂

Six years ago, when we were 10 days into starting this YouTube channel with one video and zero subscribers, we put the original graphics on the boat. They served us well.

But the boat's done a lot since then, SE Alaska, six years of cruising, a channel that grew, and we wanted graphics that could do more. Something visible from across a fairway. Something we could put on hats and shirts. Something that worked as a logo, not just a name.

Mackenzie at Ideation Designs did the new custom logo on both sides plus an illuminated 3D transom. Full breakdown in the new video, what's possible, and the unexpected thing that happens at night with the underwater lights on.

Disclosure: Ideation Designs comped the illuminated 3D transom logo after installation as a contribution toward our 2027 SE Alaska expedition.
We paid in full for the port and starboard vinyl decals. All opinions are our own.

Full details in the video description.
