Cutwater C28 / PDQ32 Catamaran
Those of you who followed the recent discussion on the cost of Yanmar parts may recall that until it was in our possession, I was a little superstitious of discussing the Yanmar 6BY engined boat we were getting.

However, now we have it home (and a pic to prove it!) I'm pleased to announce the addition of a C28 to our household.

Some of you may actually have seen and been aboard it already, as it's the model that was at the Tampa Boat Show a few weeks ago.
Although not a Ranger Tug, once you've seen the inside it's easy to they're both from the same family.

If you're interested, take a look at the virtual tour here: http://www.cutwaterboats.com/cutwat...http://vt.prestigevision.com/ma897/embed.html

Major congrats! What a beautiful boat! You will have many years of sun and fun on that baby.
Keep the pics coming and let us all know how she performs for you.
Thanks for sharing,

Stuart

Congratulations on your new vessel! She looks great! Have you decided on a name yet?

David and Maureen

Thank you both!
No name decided on yet, but I'm sure the one that feels just 'right' will make itself known in time.

I'm really happy that although there are only a few Cutwaters out there, there's a forum for us to be able to discuss our boats, and to be able to draw on the wealth of knowledge from the owners of the similarly equipped Ranger Tugs.

Originally we were looking for a Tomcat, which led to us seeing the Rangers, and then we became seduced by the Cutwater.
It's interesting how often things work out differently from the original plan. 😉

Its called "Karma"....

We do create our own karma. We always manifest what is deep inside of us whether we are aware of it or not. 🙂

Congratulations on the new boat.
I looked at the boat at the Tampa Show. There is something you might look out for. On the starboard side of the forward cabin some where around knee height is a rough or sharp spot. I know as I nicked my knee on it and drew blood , don't want it to happen to you.

Thanks! The boat hasn't bitten me yet, but I'll check out that area of the cabin before it gets the chance to taste my blood. 😀

Congratulations! We're very new owners so can't really give any in depth observations yet.
As for changes, we really don't have much use for the 'breakfast nook', and we'd have more use for an ice maker than a wine cooler.
Two early additions we're making are an extension mic/speaker for the aft steering station (a Garmin GHS 10), and a Bennett LED trim tab position indicator. A rudder position indicator will probably come at some stage too. That one will be integrated with Garmin 5212 display though.
I'll also be fitting larger sea strainers to the generator and a/c intakes as we get a lot of free floating sea grass in FL.

Where are you located and when do you expect to take delivery?

I am in Canada, Vancouver BC....I will take possession in February, I ordered it with the additional garmin screen for the cock pit steering station also....as far as the GEN, we didn't order that option.....we will get the solar panels, AC is not necessary her in Vancouver, what did you do for a cover over the cockpit? how do you
like the trolling feature? I did order it with that option....

what is the rubber position indicator?

We just have the lightweight cockpit sunshade. We're not heavily into fishing so the trolling valve isn't important to us at the moment, but I think it can be fitted later if necessary.
The Garmin GRA10 converts the analog signal from a rudder position sensor to digital so that it can be transmitted over the the NEMA 2000 buss and displayed on any of the instruments.
With hydraulic steering it's fairly easy (at least for me 😳 ) to lose track of the rudder position, especially at slow speed while maneuvering.
