We are moving Aurora (R29) back up to the PNW for awhile and it looks like she’ll be at the Port of Everett. We were in Anacortes last time (2014) but I guess a lot of the Washington marinas have pretty long waiting lists right now. We only stayed in Everett once and I remember that there was a lot of current at the guest dock. It seems like a nice central location for friends in Seattle and cruising in the San Juans..and they have a shorter waiting list. Any suggestions on better locations with in the marina. Things to do in the area? Things not to do in the area? I’d like to go up to Vancouver but not sure if that will happen this year. Maybe we will finally make the Roche Harbor rendezvous. Best to all and hope everyone has gotten/is getting their jab.

We are moored in Everett Marina, South dock in a covered slip.

Everett is nice in that it's central to Puget Sound and the San Juan Islands. There is current along the guest dock as that's the mouth of the Snohomish river. If you could get moorage on the inside of the guest dock that'd be better than being on the outside (river side). Or better yet, hit one of the less used guest docks that's far away from the river. (over by South dock, all the way inland/East). Everett has several restaurants (Anthony's Homeport and Wood fire grill) as well as Lombardi's (Italian). West Marine is also close by.

We are mooring Island Time on the Central docks of the Everett Marina. I believe the South docks have bigger slips with only a few available, covered and open. The slips are fairly priced.

Everett is centrally located which is a good thing. We like Scuttlebutt Brewery and the coffee shop at the Central docks and really like Harbor Marine for their great selection of boating and fishing supplies.

Thanks for the input. Coffee, good restaurants, and marine supplies, what more do we need. Some friends on Whidbey said that they have developed a really nice waterfront park area. We’ll have to bring our bikes.

Have you tried the Port of Edmonds for a slip ? Edmonds is the place to be these days. 😀

You may wish to try Oak Harbor marina.

Greetings. I work in economic development for the city of Everett, and I’m happy to help make your stay super fun. My email is Tchism@everettwa.gov. Shoot me an email anytime you’re looking for local advice.

We are new to Everett (2 weeks) at B-47 south and enjoying it. I like being farther away from the temptation of Harbor Marine! Though we're closer to the bar at Anthony's. Folks seem nice. There are a few livaboards on our dock to keep an eye on things.
We were on the Everett wait list for about 4 months. Still on the Edmonds list (started at 18 months, down to about 12). There's another thread that talks a bit about the current, including staying to the west side of the gas pump. You might check it out.

Thanks for all the good information! We have stayed as guests as Oak Harbor and at Edmonds. Both were nice but Edmonds had a long wait and seemed a little pricey. Oak Harbor not quite as convenient. We still have some time to get things straightened out in Everett.

Everett is a great marina. The slips are good, restrooms clean and access to great water destinations are at your doorstep. If you are looking for land events, the Port of Everett continues to make huge investments in the waterfront area. You can find live music, movies, dining, etc. there. https://portofeverett.com/visit_the_wat ... /index.php

Going into town is now a bit easier with the new Grand Avenue Bridge that links the waterfront to the upper section of town. https://everettwa.gov/1023/Grand-Avenue-Park-Bridge. It is a good walk to downtown from there, so bring a bike or call a Uber/Lyft. (Or, ask Tyler Chism when the scooters will be on the waterfront.) Alternatively, just go up onto the bridge and enjoy the great views from Grand Avenue Park. Senator Henry Jackson's house is right across the street from the park, along with lots of other incredible historic homes on the bluff.

Everett has a nice downtown and a growing music and art scene. Of course, things have changed with COVID-19, but their Fisherman's Village Music Festival has been a hit. A local blog and website, Live in Everett, includes great connections to things to do, arts and culture, food and drink. https://www.liveineverett.com/
