We've launched a new forum index: Tugmuts

Dogs onboard! Share tips on cruising with canine crew, dog friendly marinas, anchorages, pictures and more. Please jump in and share your boating experiences, on board and ashore, with your family pets (yes, cats, birds, and the occasional rabbit are welcome).

Thanks to the crews of Wallowa and Ilio Kai for the inspiration.

Bailey and Brinkley or Wallowa

Cheers,

Bruce

Hey Bruce,

Pretty soon you may have to add another for the Cutwater owners. Maybe the Cutnuts or the CWnuts.

Hi, does anyone know if Roche Harbor is dog friendly? Hoping to join the party come September but would need to bring the tugmuts (Opus & River, a Parson Russel and Irish Terrier respectively but not respectfully as they are terriers. 🙂)

Roche Habour has an off-leash dog run at the top of the hill and across a gravel car parking area up from the marina. It's split into two sections; one for large and one for smaller dogs. It has a water spigot and seats and is well gated. It's kind of hidden from view so unless you know about it it could be hard to find.

In general the marina is dog friendly. It has pickup bags at many locations along the path between the car parking area and the water.

As far as I know Roche does not impose a per-day pet fee.

At dog shows all Terriers are restricted to the corner as they do have a tendency to be noisy. We have a Wire Hair Fox Terrier and he's no exception either.

There have been lots of happy dogs in attendance at past rendezvous. From the Roche Harbor website.

Off-Leash Dog Park

We know dogs are the furriest of family members, and if you decide to bring them on the vacation we've got a spot just for them. Whether you want to socialize with other "vacationers" or just let them burn off some energy before going to bed, our off-leash dog park is the perfect spot to relax while they run around. Split into small- and large-dog areas, it's sure to be a hit with Fluffy. We also have "Fido Stations" throught the resort to help ensure a healthy environment for all.

Cheers,

Bruce

I would love to see the fotos of the various "Tugmuts" from the recent 2017 Rendezvous at Roche Harbor.
